The portrait of Mithaq Ismail Mahal, along with portraits of other Kocho residents who were killed or kidnapped by Daesh, is exhibited at Kocho's school.

Mithaq Ismail Mahal was born in the village of Kocho in 2009.
Daesh killed Mithaq's family when they attacked the village of Kocho in August 2014. Daesh kidnapped Mithaq and held him captive in Baghouz, Syria.
When Kurdish troops and US forces liberated Baghouz from Daesh in March 2019, Mithaq attempted to escape from Daesh captivity.
During his escape he stepped on a mine, ending Mithaq's life.
